It’s hard to know what goes on between two people, and the glorified Facebook “wall” may not necessarily tell the whole story. Although connected via the modern conveniences of technology, four women find themselves diverging from their once tight-knit friendships—not in spite of Facebook, but because of it.
“Written on the Wall” explores current topics and stressors that women and their families face, such as the stereotypes of child and adult autism spectrum disorder, the stigma of artificial fertility methods, the practice of mainstream versus alternative medicine, the decision whether to procreate, and the ever-elusive family/work-life balance. The platform of Facebook—a relatively new form of communication that now permeates the fabric of longtime friendships—offers a unique platform to view the way social media skews reality and perception. This novel will appeal to readers of contemporary women’s fiction.
